There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.

The first chapter of Alloland is now in the final editing stages! I’m also considering submitting some of my short stories and (gasp) poems to literary magazines. So keep an eye out for announcements of things getting published!

From Alloland

With the exception of Chroma and Grampus, every member of the Orca royal family has a name based off of a nobility particle. According to Wikipedia, a nobility particle is “used in a surname or family name … to signal the nobility of a family.” Some examples you may know are “von” in German names or “de” in Spanish names: Vono and Del’s names are only slight variations.

Real Life Cool Stuff:

Topic: Societies

Indigenous people of the arctic have adapted their clothing to the cold temperatures. Several indigenous societies of Siberia wear reindeer hooves at the bottom of their boots to help keep their feet from getting cold! Saves them a few million years of evolution, since they just borrow from the reindeer!

New Year’s Resolutions:

  1. Check out new media when people recommend it

So far this year, I’ve checked out: Big Mouth (love it), Taxi, Habitica (love it), the Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure anime, the Moneyball book (good), the Re:Zero anime (just started, so far so good), and various songs

  1. Learn Dutch

I’m about a week behind, but so far I’ve been spending a lot of time working on my accent through songs! My generous Dutch friend is helping me out, and sometimes even says that I pronounced something correctly!
