I know it’s been a long time since I’ve posted. The COVID-19 outbreak has been taking a serious toll on my mental health, and so I’ve been trying to relax and do mindless things more often. I hope everyone reading this (if anyone is XD) is safe, staying healthy, and doing everything they can to fight the spread of the virus.
However, I want to get back into blogging, and what better way to kick that off than with a new post category? For a long time, I’ve loved talking about weird places my writing research has taken me on the Internet. Sometimes you want to know more about what it would be like for your main character to have a magpie as an animal companion, but end up watching videos of magpies playing with puppies. It happens. And because it happens so often, I’ve dubbed this new category, “Weird Places My Writing Research has Taken Me on the Internet,” or “Weird Writing Research” for short.
I fall down all sorts of rabbit holes, normally animal-related. The first post, “The energetics of lactation in the Northern elephant seal, Mirounga angustirostris,” falls right into that category. Enjoy!
